Summer Crafts For Kids To Showcase Their Creativity

When May descends, parents and other family members start wracking their brains on how to entertain their kids for hours. School going kids have so much free time at home all summer, and you need to think of something to keep them busy. If your child has entrepreneurship skills, he or she may even earn money by selling his artwork. Summer Crafts for kids are a great way to see how your child is learning a new art and improvising it too. Here are a few summer craft ideas for your child to start this summer.

Make Colorful Dreamcatchers

By repurposing your old bangles, they can make these bright dreamcatchers. Give the ideas or help them to cut the shiny ribbons or flowers off their old hairbands to fix on these rings. Before you know it, they would end up making it on their own. It has great value too if they want to sell it. If you are looking for a craft kit to get you started with how to make these dreamcatchers, check out the Craft-tastic – DIY Dream Catchers – Craft Kit Makes 2 Dream Catchers.

Felt and Popsicle Bookmark

If there are plenty of color papers and ice cream or popsicle sticks around the house, this is one of the best summer crafts for kids. Paint the popsicle sticks and keep it aside. Cut the felt or paper as per their favorite cartoon or animals and flowers of their choice. Stick these on the top of those sticks. The bookmarks are ready to use.

Pour Painted Plates and Flower Pots

If the kids want to experiment on the things around the house with colors, get them to pour a bit of paint in a small cup, one on top of the other. Then take a pot and turn it upside down. Place these colors upside down on the pot. The colors pour out and create an abstract design. Make sure to spread out an old newspaper on the floor or the table before starting this project.

DIY Suncatchers

Cut these OHP sheets in varying sizes and shapes and paint them. You can even stick glitter or rhinestones and hang them from the glass windows after the paint dries. The sunlight passing through the colorful suncatchers will cast a prismatic effect on the walls.
